The Westie Walk at Lighthouse Park on 27 May was a lot of fun. There must have been more than 100 Westies in attendance. All sizes, shades of white, and "hairstyles" were present.
At times I looked at so many little white dogs at the same time, it was hard to focus the camera on one of them. Lots of sniffing going on as well. At times you could hear the terrier growl, but all in all, it was amazingly peaceful.
It was so much fun to watch the Westie Race. 5 dogs where racing to catch the stuffed toy (squirrel) that was reeled in on something that looked like a massive wheel of a fishing rod. The dogs have an intensity during the race - almost as much as their owners! Just look at the faces of the dogs and the people around them! Just check out the dog in the back, He is totally uplifted from ground and focussed on the target. I could not stop laughing when I spotted this image!
Make sure you look at the gallery with many more images from this fun event including individual dog portraits. A difficult day of shooting but the turn out is still a lot of fun images. I hope you will enjoy this gallery.
It was challenging to get a group shot of such a large group of participants with so many photographers trying to get the best angle. But check out the gentleman in the centre back of the image with his live-dog-hat! One way to get your dog noticed !
If you are a participant and want to order any images please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. 50% of the proceeds will go to Westie Rescue of Canada.
