My recent photo shoot of two tabby cats in Richmond was a lot of fun for everyone involved. Cats are always interesting to photograph. They are not as responsive as dogs and don't (generally) follow commands. However, if they do settle into a comfortable spot, then one can take many photos of the cat, each usually with a slightly different facial expression.
I loved photographing Foon, a 20 year old tabby cat. He has so many expressions and I annoy stop wondering what was going on in his mind.
I am sad to say that Foon has passed since the shoot and his owner is glad that we managed to get so many different images that will keep his memory alive.
Foon is Chinese for Happy - and as a happy cat he will be remembered.
Foon shared his home with Telly, another tabby cat who was not impressed with Foon's priority during the shoot. Yet, he played along nicely too.
One of the main objectives was to get a shot of both cats together. This was a challenge as the cats don't like to get too close. But to everyone's surprise they positioned themselves so nicely in the yard that I managed some beautiful shots of both of them. I love it in Black and White but also go and check it out in the gallery in colour and let me know which one you prefer!
